Shaw Wines 2017 Winemakers Selection Shiraz, $20
The cool-climate Canberra wine region produces a softer style of Shiraz than many big Aussie reds, making them exceptionally food-friendly and versatile. This ‘Winemakers Selection’ Shiraz is from Shaw Wines’ most affordable range, a fresh, easy-drinking line that provides great value for money. It spent more than a year in old French oak and has bright cherry characters, a hint of mint and pepper, and a deliciously velvety finish. Very quaffable.
