Lowe Wines 2015 ‘Tinja’ Preservative Free & Organic Shiraz, $22
There’s a whole market in preservative-free wines. A lot of people want them and there aren’t too many around to meet the demand, largely because it is difficult to make one that tastes half decent. It is absolutely crucial to start with high quality fruit, as winemaker David Lowe has done with the organic fruit from Mudgee that he has used in this very appealing Shiraz. It’s easy-drinking, lovely and fresh, and definitely one to seek out if you’re looking for wines that are sulphur-free. Lowe has been making this wine for six years now, and clearly has it down pat.
