Krondorf Growers Barossa Shiraz 2012

Wednesday Wine Pick, Christine Salins Wine Reviews.www.foodwinetravel.com.au Wednesday's Wine Pick

Krondorf Growers Barossa Shiraz 2012, $17.99

With its generous mouthfeel and plummy, spicy notes, this wine is no shrinking violet. Powerful yet elegant, it cries out Barossa Valley, seducing us with its silky tannins and deliciously long finish. It was crowned Cellarmasters Red Wine of the Year in 2014, a well-deserved win as it offers so much bang for its buck. Cellarmasters is Australia’s largest online wine retailer and on the few occasions when I’ve tasted some of its offerings, I’ve been hugely impressed. This one, from a winery whose name has been synonymous with the Barossa since the 1860s, is definitely one I’d recommend putting on your must-taste list.
