Bremerton Special Release 2016 Fiano, $24
Still in the Italian mood after our recent trip, it’s a joy to open this bottle of Fiano, a variety that is grown primarily in southern Italy and Sicily. This Aussie version is from a line of special releases by Langhorne Creek winery Bremerton which also includes other lesser known varietals such as Lagrein and Vermentino. Winemaker Rebecca Willson produces quality wines with distinctive characters, and this is no exception with its bold flavours, aromas and texture. With refreshing citrus notes and a real nuttiness, this crisp white wine should be served chilled. It goes without saying that it pairs beautifully with Italian food.
