Bremerton 2018 Bâtonnage Chardonnay, $32
Chardonnay like this – matured in French oak for 12 months, during which time the yeast lees are stirred (bâtonnage as the French call it) to give it some added complexity – is a thing of beauty. A wine to drink anytime, anywhere, this 2018 vintage is delightfully expressive with lifted citrus aromas, hints of stone fruit and spice, a creamy mouthfeel and a lovely long finish.
