Celebrate the arrival of spring with Queensland craft beers, boutique wines and gourmet food at the Shafston Hotel’s Hops and Vines festival next Saturday (September 5). The laneway around the hotel will host a street festival of epic proportions, featuring brews, sips, food trucks and tunes.
For $10 a ticket, festival-goers will be able to get their hands on a festival branded wine glass and fill it with two wines, then keep their glass overflowing all afternoon with wine from labels such as Tin Shed, Wirra Wirra, Deviation Road,Paul Jaboulet, RockBare and Wild Earth.
If you’re not a friend of the vine, no need to worry as craft brewers will be setting up tents and taps in the laneways to quench the thirst of beer lovers. Among the brews on offer will be Green Beacon, Stone and Wood, Newstead Brewing, Fortitude Brewing, Yenda and James Squire.
There’ll be food trucks offering hot dogs, sliders, Italian food, pizza and other snacks, while gourmet cheese vendors will provide platters to pair with your favourite drops. Setting the mood on the Laneway stage will be local musical talents Tyrone Noonan Band, Fader, Mason Rack Band, The Hayden Hack Infusion and Willy Angelo.
