Candlelight Concerts are being held in an array of wondrous venues around Australia this month, allowing people to experience live music in a truly special way.
Talented local musicians pay homage to the world’s greatest composers and modern-day artists, in venues illuminated with hundreds of candles in a serene and beautiful atmosphere that promises to sweep you off your feet.
The concert schedule includes a wide variety of themes and genres from classical, jazz, pop, rock and alternative/indie genres, to movie soundtracks and ballet. Whether under the stars or in a venue with beautiful architecture, every location is chosen to elevate the listening experience.
The Australian schedule includes A Tribute to Queen at Sydney Masonic Centre; The Best of Hans Zimmer at The National Gallery of Art, Canberra; Candlelight Jazz: Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone and More Jazz Greats at Perth Town Hall; Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake at St. John’s Cathedral, Brisbane; The Best of Joe Hisaishi at 128 King William St, Adelaide; A Tribute to Coldplay at The National Theatre, Melbourne; and A Tribute to Radiohead at Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne. And this month, Candlelight Concerts will be held for the first time in Newcastle and Hobart.
The Candlelight Concerts offered by live entertainment platform, Fever, launched in New York, Madrid and Paris in 2019. They are now held in more than 100 cities worldwide with the aim of democratizing access to culture and classical music; boosting visibility for local musicians; and celebrating unique venues.
Here in Canberra, concerts are being held over two nights in the James Fairfax Theatre at the National Gallery of Australia: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons on November 25 at 6:30pm and 8:30pm, and Best of Hans Zimmer on November 26 at 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
