Calling all foodies! A new market will open in Moreton Bay this Friday, and it’s full of flavour.
Bite Markets at North Harbour will be a permanent street food market with around 40 vendors, providing a new dining adventure for people on the northside of Brisbane and Moreton Bay.
It opens at 4pm on Friday and will operate every Friday and Saturday from 4pm till 10pm. The “flavour makers” and bars will operate from customised shipping containers, surrounded by landscaped areas in a fully fenced dining precinct.
Exclusive to the market is Mitte Berlin Street Food, the creation of Moreton Bay region locals Suzanne and Brett Lang who will also operate Ice Tea Man. They will be joined by Don Quijote Paella and Tapas (Spanish), September 18 (the popular North Lakes restaurant), Zoe’s Brownies (from Kallangur local, Teegan Kuenz), Come on Mate! Gourmet Japanese, Fresh Gozleme, Tibetan Momo Café, Mr Bunz, Romantica Restaurant (Italian), Donut Kitchen, Mister Churros, Mini Dutch Pancakes – Poffertjes, Nude Juice, Mocktail Madness and more.
Market founder Tom Burke is thrilled with the calibre of flavour makers who he says have leapt at the opportunity to be part of the food market.
“As the northside’s great food adventure, Bite represents a new hub for local food creators and food lovers. Biters are set for a culinary journey around the globe with dishes from Malaysia to Spain, Italy to Japan, Tibet to Turkey and everywhere in between, all created on-site. Of course, everyone is dedicated to championing local produce.”
Parking will be available for more than 600 cars. Take Exit 150 from the Bruce Highway to Buchanan Drive, Morayfield, and follow the signs. The market is on Nolan Drive, 12 minutes from North Lakes and 25 minutes from Brisbane.
Entry is $3; children 12 years and under are free of charge. No single item at Bite Markets will sell for more than $15.
